Installing our Palm Tree Lights

How to Install Our Lights in Your Tree

We ship these lights to you as pre-assembled as possible for an easy installation. In addition we test every single lamp fixture before shipment!

When you order, we will ask you to measure the circumference of the tree you want to light. You can do that with any measuring tape you like, and it does not need to be exact. We need that measurement to make sure that the stainless steel collar clamp is of the appropriate length. If it's a few inches too long, it's fine - as it is adjustable.

Still, you don't want the collar clamp too long as it can make it a little awkward to handle the excess when clamping down around the tree. Then again, you do not want it too short. So please measure carefully, and select the size when ordering.

Measure it by wrapping the measuring tape around the tree trunk at the approximate height where the light will be installed (typically 7-10 feet above ground).

If your tree's circumference falls outside of our standard size trunk clamps, send us an email, and we'll try to can make you a custom clamp.

The light itself is attached to the trunk clamp with a special-made bolt that fits into one of the square slots spaced evenly around the clamp. The large flat back of that bolt ensure that it will not damage the tree trunk. Once the clamp is tightened, the light will automatically lock in place, and become very sturdy while still allowing you to do a final adjustment to the light beam using the adjustments bolts on the lights bracket. We have attached a couple of pieces of tape to the trunk clamp to help keep the 3 clamp pieces in place during shipping and installation. Once you've tightened the clamp down onto the tree, you can remove the tape if you wish.

Simply wrap the stainless steel trunk clamp around the tree, and feed it into the worm-drive mechanism to tighten the clamp using a regular screwdriver, or nut driver. Unless your tree is very tall, we recommend that you install the light 7-8 feet above ground. That way it's up, and out-of-the-way, safe from accidental damage, and will provide a bright and beautiful illumination of your tree's crown, without the typical glare so common with other systems.

The UL listed, CSA certified, RoHS compliant, Greenspec approved high-grade cable is 12 feet long, enough length for you to tie it into an existing 12-volt landscape lighting system at the base of the trunk, using the included junction box.

The wire lead coming out of the light housing contains a weather-sealed automotive-grade Deutsch connector. The connector makes it easier for you to disconnect the cable from the light, at the connector, as you connect the end of the cable to your low voltage system. Do NOT simply pull in the cable, it is a locking connector, so lift the little tab (see video) on the connector to release the Deutsch connector. To be able to quickly disconnect the light also makes it a lot easier to move the light or clean it.

This evening, sit back and enjoy your new Magic Garden!
