About us and our Palm Tree Lights, outdoor led palm tree lighting fixtures.

If you've ever been to a tropical resort, where at night up-lit palm trees gently rustle in the evening breeze? Then you know what an amazingly serene feeling that creates!

When we moved into this house a few years ago, it needed some work. The backyard, well, it needed a lot of work! Neglected and overgrown, we could see it's potential as we wanted to create that soothing and serene space there that we've always wanted. It did have several Palm Trees which we love. As part of the whole restoration, we wanted to re-create that tropical resort feeling in our own backyard. A big part of that is night time lighting. We tried the typical garden light stuff....meh. They just didn't have the pop, and, the gardeners kept accidentally hitting them with movers and weed-wackers every other week.

Searching high and low, we simply could not find an affordable tree light system that provided the performance and look that we wanted. The typical flimsy garden light variety offered everywhere, simply didn't generate enough light, and the quality of the light beam - terrible. Yes, there are great commercial systems out there, but they are expensive at $300-500 per fixture.

We wanted bright palm tree illumination that was not only really energy efficient and "green", but also did not negatively impact the health of the tree itself. We wanted commercial quality lighting but without the big price tag, and, it needed to be easy to install. We just couldn't find it! 

So, after 2 years of frustration, we decided to make our own.

Much thought, trial and testing went into the first sets now installed in our garden. Since then, friends and neighbors have asked us to build sets for them as well. Quickly we realized that we weren't the only ones looking for this, and that there is a need for the product. So some more thought and research went into the design, planning and assembly of our Palm Tree Light Kits, to not only make sure that they produce a really bright and focused light beam, but also be extremely power-efficient, using low voltage LED technology. And, they needed to be easy to install!

Our lights are very durable with LED bulb life-expectancy of 40,000 hours. Our standard lights draw only 16 watts of 12-volt power, yet they produce a bright clean beam of light that will reach the crown of 35 foot tall trees (We also offer a high-power version capable of reaching trees up to 75 feet). Equally important, they can be securely installed without causing harm to the tree, and it can be done in a matter of minutes!

Typical tree lighting systems are installed on the ground (so called up-lights), but there are several common problems with that type of installation. Ground installed lights get easily damaged by gardening equipment, like lawn mowers, edger's and weed-wackers, but also by people accidentally stepping, kicking, or tripping on them. Then, there is the occasional vandal issue of course.

In addition, unless they are expensive commercial systems, existing systems are simply not bright enough to really light-up the trees crown of frowns. Ours will reach trees as high as 75 feet!

Then there are light systems that are attached by driving nails, screws, or other sharp objects into the tree trunk itself. Some utilize a steel halo/ring with spikes going into the tree. Those typically damage the tree as well. Palm trees especially, are very sensitive to objects that penetrate their trunks, as they do not have the ability to heal any puncture holes along the trunk. 

The Magic Garden Palm Tree Light Kit, (video) comes pre-assembled with small 3 inch durable IP67 rated weatherproof aluminum lamp housing containing the LED diode light fixture. The light will arrive already affixed to an adjustable Stainless Steel Trunk Clamp (collar clamp). 12 feet of insulated wiring, and weather-protected (Deutsch automotive-grade) locking cable connectors are already installed for easy, and safe connection to a new or any existing 12 volt low-voltage landscape lighting system.

Our lights are bright, and, they mount without penetrating the tree trunk as it utilizes an adjustable "trunk clamp" around the trunk with a self-locking, but still adjustable light fixture. An additional benefit, is that they can be moved up or down the tree trunk (or to change direction of the light) as the tree grows without causing any harm, or damage to the tree. 

By installing the light onto the trunk of the tree, it not only get's the light off the ground, but also provides amazingly beautiful lighting of the tree's crown without the blinding glare of a ground mounted system. And - they are very easy to install!
